Paediatric First Aid (PFA) – level 3

Paediatric First Aid (PFA) level 3 course is a two day course. It focuses on emergency scenarios that face those looking after young children or infants. This including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs. Becoming a Paediatric First Aider will give you life saving skills that can help save a child’s life.

About the course

Paediatric First Aid (PFA) course is for people who want to become credited first aiders. If you pass the course then the qualification will last you 3 years from the date it was completed. This course will be set over 2 days and you will learn units 1 & 2. Unit 2 will be completed on day 1 with unit 2 being completed on day 2. Paediatric First Aid (PFA) has practical demonstration, questioning and written assessment.

Day 2

  • Chronic medical conditions and illnesses
  • Effects of heat and cold
  • Electric shocks incidents
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisoning
  • Anaphylaxis
